FIELD: electronic engineering. SUBSTANCE: electron-vacuum device has open resonance-tuned system, electron source and collector, slow-wave structure on one of cavity mirrors. Transparent gas-tight insulating strip is mounted above reflecting surface of slow-wave structure mirror and attached to flat mirror edge through gas-tight flange by vacuum-tight joint; evacuated space of device reduced in this way incorporates only electron beam transport area, slow-wave system, electron emitter and collector. Strip parameters should meet definite relation. EFFECT: saved vacuum-pure materials, reduced mass and simplified design of device. 1 dwg
