FIELD: wire production. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of reducing large-dimension blank successively in the same technological transition in geometrically alike roll grooved passes, having non-round cross section; in a first grooved pass, formed by reducing rolls, provided by backup groups of rolls, deforming the blank with a reduction value, consisting (0.35-0.75) of its total reduction; in a second roll grooved pass, mounted with possibility of rotation with use of a drive unit, performing further deformation of the blank and its twisting.
