FIELD: nuclear power engineering; thermonuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: thermonuclear reactor has vacuum vessel, blanket segments with factenings. Vessel accommodates supporting structure built up of U-shaped members whose inner side walls are provided with vertical grooves arranged one on top of other over member height and at least one horizontal slot starting from butt end of supporting member. Fastenings for blanket segments are made in the form of at least one projection and stops installed on side walls of segments. Stops are provided with actuators placed inside blanket. Height and width of segment projection correspond to height and depth of slot on supporting member; depth of vertical groove corresponds to working stroke of blanket stop. Supporting structure members are mounted for radial displacement relative to vacuum vessel. Supporting members are attached to vessel in split-joint manner. Such design of hermonuclear reactor enables compensation for thermal expansion of blanket, vacuum vessel, supporting structure, and loads occurring in blanket in case of plasma breaking.
