FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: method for production of water-repelling loose material includes heat treatment of initial mineral carrier with subsequent reaction of the latter with hydrophobic agent and modifying agent. Hydrophobic agent is preliminarily subjected to combined grinding with a part of mineral carrier to produce finely divided hydrophobic concentrate which is further mixed with mineral carrier and modifying agent to obtain homogeneous loose material with the following amounts of components, mas.%: mineral filler 93-98.9; hydrophobic agent 1.5-6; modifying agent 0.6-1.5. The offered method and composition allows production of homogeneous water-repellent loose material possessing high water-protective properties.
