FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has femoral and tibial parts having intraosseous rods with platforms. The platforms are connected with rotation stoppers by means of hinged joints. A hinged joint is made in form of cylindric bearing. Y-shaped members made in form of curved lateral condylar members for fastening the bearing are fixed on the femoral part platform. Two concave surfaces are manufactured on the tibial part platform in parallel to the condylar members between which projection is positioned to have connection to the bearing wedge-shaped rest member. Toroidal projections are made on longitudinal surface of the condylar members. The corresponding toroidal grooves are made on the concave surfaces of the tibial part. Projection curvature radius grows smaller in the flexing direction. Groove curvature radius grows in the direction being in perpendicular relation to that of flexing. Method involves coarsening surface roughness in preroasting mechanical surface treatment. Polishing is carried out during the postroasting treatment to achieve prescribed dimensions and finishing friction surfaces of toroidal pairs and the bearing. Two-stage thermal stabilization process is applied to the article after its heat treatment. EFFECT: improved mechanical properties of prosthesis. 5 cl, 3 dwg
