FIELD: educational methods. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing adaptation of children to water medium; watching that bodies of children are in correct position in water so that minimum resistance of body to water is achieved; working out coordinated movements of arms and legs to provide swimming in required direction; setting up respiration so that it is coordinated with movements of arms and legs; correcting for adequate effectuation of coordinated movements and respiration; working out automatism of movements and actions. In the process of teaching, mask is used to prevent eyes and nose from direct contact with water. Besides, aspiration tube and flippers are used. As children improve their swimming skills, flippers are initially given up, then aspiration tube and at the final stage of teaching process mask may be denied, with skills acquired being permanently maintained. EFFECT: increased efficiency and provision for high-quality swimming technique.
