SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of teaching swimming and may be used to teach swimming to both children, starting from 4 years, and students, who do not know how to swim, mainly, in swimming pools. The invention objective is the fastest adaptation to water within a short period of time. It is achieved by the fact that in the method of teaching swimming, consisting in the fact that adaptation of a trainee to water is carried out, the trainee is taught proper breathing and proper motion of arms and legs, simultaneous movement of arms and legs is adjusted, thus achieving automatism, differing by the fact that adaptation of the trainee to water, teaching proper breathing and proper movement of arms and legs, adjustment of simultaneous movement of arms and legs and breathing, it is all carried out in a flow of water flowing from a nozzle installed in a swimming pool wall at the distance of 1-2 of human head from water surface, jet pressure makes 1.5-1.6 atm., at the same time first breathing into water is practiced, then arm movements, then leg movements, while holding a bracket installed in the swimming pool wall above the nozzle, from which a directed water jet is supplied.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of teaching swimming.
