FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: air filter has housing 1 with inlet branch pipe 3 and outlet branch pipe 4, filtering member 2 made of a plastic, and flame damper 6 mounted inside branch pipe 4 between filtering member 2 and inlet of the engine. The damper is made up as a net strip rolled in a roll to form multi- layered walls. The pipe abuts against end faces and walls of branch pipe 4 and mounted perpendicular to the air flow. The lateral cross-section of branch pipe 4 at flame damper 6 is a rectangular. The filter can be provided with branch pipe 7 for ventilation of the engine crankcase. The filter can be mounted inside branch pipe 4 and enter flame damper 6 from the side of its end face. EFFECT: improved quality of filtering. 2 cl, 7 dwg
