FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. SUBSTANCE: cylinder head has intake and exhaust channels with valves coming out to one side of head and combustion chamber with displacement surfaces. Combustion chamber in horizontal section has shape of cardioid formed by conjugating arcs. Larger axis of cardioid passes through points of intersection of axes of valves with lower plane of head and is equal to 1.06-1.09 of cylinder bore. Cardioid in lower plane of head is made by arcs whose radii are located on larger axis of cardioid and are equal to 0.65-0.70 of cylinder bore in zone of intake valve and 0.63-0.66 of cylinder bore in zone of exhaust valve. Arcs are conjugated at side of channels by arc forming projection in combustion chamber wall, and at side opposite to channels, by arc forming convexity in combustion chamber. Longitudinal side walls of combustion chamber are inclined. Width of inclined walls, viewed from bottom increases from zero in extreme points of larger axis of cardioid to maximum in zone close to cylinder axis.
