FIELD: surgical instruments. SUBSTANCE: the device is made in the form of a cylindrical helix; each turn of the helix in formed by a zigzag wire spring of material with a shape memory, with a preset and the same number of zigzags; the bendings of each turn are placed in the intervals of the adjacent zigzags of adjacent turns. The helix zigzags may be inclined to the longitudinal axis of their symmetry with even and uneven height and lead of the helix. In a cooled state the device is compressed in radius and introduced in the pathologically stenosed section of the hollow organ. When heated to the body temperature, it restores its original shape dilating the hollow organ. Due to lateral and longitudinal elasticity, the device well initiates the shape of the hollow organ and is most effective in use with minimum probability of tissue necrosis in sections with a prolonged pathology.
