FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of boron alloys production mainly in electrical furnace provides for loading on bottom of working chamber, that has cylindrical form with carbon-bearing lining, of charge made of iron oxides boron-bearing component carbon-bearing reducing agent and timber wastes, smelting by burning electrical discharge from electrode to bottom, continuous loading of chamber and periodical smelt discharge, which is preceded with preliminary heating of working chamber lining up to temperature of 1751 - 1800 C, and charge is loaded with volumetric density of 0.3 - 0.7 t/m3 with ratio of bottom diameter to charge layer height of 0.2 - 0.8. In the case scale together with plasma formed gas is fed through electrode axial hole and keep electric current density equal to 1.5 - 4.0 A/cm2 of bottom area. EFFECT: increased productivity. 1 dwg
