FIELD: method and aggregate for refractory metals carbides production. SUBSTANCE: refractory metal powder is used as charge materials, tungsten and carbon black. Lower pattern electrode pit, width of which is 1.3 - 1.7 of upper punch diameter and height of which is 40 - 70 mm, is filled with mixture of charge materials of 20 - 50 kg total mass. Electrodes are fed with electrical current and electrical arc is lit through layer of mixture in pit. Table with lower electrode begins to rotate to feed uniformly new portions of powder into pit zone of electrical arc operation. Duration of tungsten production process is 3 - 10 minutes. Speed of table rotation is adjusted depending upon cross-section area of loaded with mixture ring-type pit in pattern electrode. Angular velocity of electrode rotation is adjustable in limits 0.002 - 0.03 rad/s. After melting block of tungsten carbide is cooled, cleaned from unreacted charge, crush in crusher and sieved. EFFECT: method and aggregate for its realization allow to increase productivity. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 3 tbl
