FIELD: food industry; clarifying and concentrating juices. SUBSTANCE: diaphragm apparatus has housing with solution inlet and concentrate outlet branch pipes, hollow tube installed coaxially in housing and diaphragm members mounted on tube in the form of screw conveyor. Housing is installed vertically and is furnished with solution stirring device in the form of drum installed for rotation above upper end of tube. Screw conveyor is hollow and is provided with different permeability semipenetrable diaphragms located on its two opposite sides. Inner space of screw conveyor is divided by impermeable screw-shaped partition into two chambers, each communicating with permeate outlet branch pipes. With drum rotating, solution is sucked from hollow tube and is directed downwards along screw conveyor where separation is carried out through diaphragm surfaces.
