METHOD OF GANGLIOSIDE GM PREPARING Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: biotechnology, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves the use of ganglioside GM₃ preparing used for liposomal preparation making. Erythrocytes were hemolyzed with mixture of glacial acetic acid and water taken at ratio (0.9-1.1):(90-110) followed by precipitation with acetone at ratio of hemolyzed erythrocytes and acetone = (0.9-1.1):(2.8-3.0). Extraction is carried out with mixture of chloroform and methanol, then propanol-2 and petroleum ether at ratio 80:20. The end product is obtained after ion-exchange and adsorption chromatography. Yield is increased by 5-7-fold as compared with that by prototype. Preparation is used for study of structure and function of biomembranes. EFFECT: increased yield of product. 5 tbl
