FIELD: coking appliances. SUBSTANCE: proposed oven uses one or more tungsten quartz lamps or arc quarts lamps affording 1.5 kW of radiant energy whose greatest portion is light energy with wavelength of 0.4 to 0.7 mcm incident directly onto food. Combination of deeply penetrating infra-red rays and intensive visible light inside food provides for temperature gradient at which surface temperature of food is higher than that inside it thereby speeding up food cooking. Light sources may be arranged on top and at bottom of food; inner walls of oven should provide good reflection to direct visible rays of light energy onto food. Visible light source intensity can be automatically adjusted and varied throughout entire cooking period. EFFECT: reduced cooking time. 4 cl, 2 dwg
