FIELD: concentration and metallurgical plants and other branches of industry; storage and discharge of bulk loads. SUBSTANCE: device has hopper with discharge opening and trunk under which plate feeder is installed. Mounted under discharge opening on both outer side walls of discharge trunk on brackets are beams with fitted-on bushings with internal thread, and holes are cut coaxially with bushings on side walls on discharge trunk. Rods are inserted into bushing. First half of rod length is plain and thread corresponding to thread of bushing is cut on second half of rod. End of each rod is inserted into hole. To close discharge opening of hopper, coaxial pairs of rods are moved to each other by rotating the rods in threaded bushings at both sides of discharge trunk. As a result, cross section area of discharge trunk into row of parallel slots. Moving lumps are wedged in slots between rods forming bridges of rock, thus preventing its movement.
