Abstract RU 2066824 C1

FIELD: direct conversion of electric energy into kinetic one of propelled solid, in particular, electromagnetic accelerator of solids in railtrons. SUBSTANCE: accelerator comprises power housing 1 where parallel electrodes 2, 3 are positioned in its longitudinal axis, these electrodes form an external pair of electrodes shorted in the energy conductor section by jumper 6. Positioned in parallel with them are electrodes 4, 5 forming an internal pair shorted by current movable armature 7. All electrodes are separated by electric insulating spacers 8, 9. Electrodes 2, 3 are connected to power source 10 via switch 11 in the accelerator input part, and electrodes 4, 5 are connected to power source 12 via switch 13 in section moved off from the initial position of current armature 7. Power sources 10, 12 are conductive insulated; electrodes 2, 4 located on one side of the accelerator are connected to similar terminals of the power sources via switches 13, 11 while electrodes 3, 5 are connected to the other terminals. Lengths of the sections from the initial position of armature 7 to the point of connection of power source 12, and from this point to the accelerator are selected so as to provide effective acceleration, and geometric characteristics of electronic pairs and values of discharge currents are selected so as not to build up a load destroying the accelerator channel.
