FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a multiturn rail guns. Multiturn rail gun is sectioned on length by an accelerating channel, comprising N pairs of current-carrying parallel rails, first rails of all pairs and second rails of all pairs are separated by insulating gaps and form first and second stacks. Armature consists of electrically insulated from each other conducting links on number of rails (N), installed on a common insulator to slide on rails. On channel input side second rails of i-th pair are connected to first rails of i+1 pair by means of series conducting links, and first rail of first pair and second rail of N-th pair are for connection to power supply. Device also includes M additional stacks, comprising N-1 rails, installed along channel in series with insulating gaps between ends of rails of first stack, starting from second, and beginning of rails of first additional stack, as well as between ends rails of j-th (where j=1…M-1) additional stack and beginning of rails of i+1-th additional stack, wherein length of rails of second stack and first rail of first stack is equal to total length of assembly of first and M additional stacks.
