FIELD: chemical technology of noble metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves passing parental solution through the layer of carbon adsorbent. Used adsorbent is subjected for preliminary demineralization by acidic treatment and thermic working in inert atmosphere. Noble metals were extracted by 99.9% together with separation of palladium from other platinum metals at the stage of partial desorption. Palladium and silver desorption is carried out with 20% nitric acid solution and other platinum metals were retained on coal. After treatment with nitric acid coal is washed with water, dried and subjected for thermic working in inert medium and then used repeatedly for extraction of platinum metals from acidic sulfate solutions. The same coal can be used for 6-10 cycles. One gram coal can adsorb up to 400 mg platinum metals. Then coal is calcined and high-quality concentrate of platinum metals is obtained.
