SUBSTANCE: remote controlled gripping device has compass type member 1 with legs 2 and 3 coupled with double-acting jacks, load grips 4 and 5, grip guide members to which cranked rods 52 belong, and load locking members to which locks 63 and 64 belong. Bracket hinge-mounted on device guide column 10 serves for spatial orientation of device with loads with differently located gravity centers, bracket being deflected from vertical position by double-acting jack 30. To grip a load, legs 2 and 3 of compass member 1 are set into motion, cranked rods 52 provide centering of device on load, and locks 63 and 64 are brought into holes 65 of device for grip 54 of load 55.
