FIELD: materials handling facilities. SUBSTANCE: proposed method provides for mounting load distributing boom and/or counterboom with corresponding brace one end of which is connected wit boom or counterboom member, respectively, and other end, initially free one, is connected to mast head. Boom members are laid in line and connected to each other and to support brace on ground. Using auxiliary mounting mechanism, boom or counterboom brace is lifted a little and is pulled by mounting device consisting of sling or system of slings to hold free end of brace at a certain height over boom, and to hold free end of counterboom brace, over counterboom. At a final stage of lifting, load distributing boom with brace is fed to front side of mast head, and load distributing boom and/or counterboom are connected with head of crane mast and then free end of brace of load distributing boom and/or counterboom are connected by broaching with head of mast. EFFECT: reduced time taken for mounting the crane. 13 cl, 14 dwg
