FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: driving joint is used for connecting a hollow cam shaft with its driving shaft mounted inside it. The axes of these two members are parallel and can move laterally to vary characteristics of rotation of the cam shaft in response to rotation of the driving shaft with a constant speed. The cam shaft carries a guide for a slide that slides inside it and define a rotating joint together with the lever end that is carried by the driving shaft. The lever is shaped so that the center of rotation of the rotating joint is positioned inside the contour of the circumference of the driving shaft in view of its axis thus contributing to radial compactness. The part whose cross-section is a half-moon may be significantly important. The concave surface of the half-moon is coincident with the surface of the driving shaft.
