FIELD: thermal engineering; small-volume furnaces. SUBSTANCE: heat extraction (heat removal) is controlled in small-volume furnace flues of thermal plants by varying intensity of electric field superimposed on furnace flue section depending on degree of heating of coolant and exit stack gases, and also temperature field of flue wall over its entire length. Tp this end, use is made of device that has power unit of device 9, first burner-electrode 15, second electrode 16 in furnace flue, sensors 1 and 2 of coolant temperature at device inlet and outlet, sensors 3 and 4 of stack gas temperature at furnace flue inlet and outlet, sensors 5 and 6 of wall temperature at furnace flue beginning and end, and controlling unit 7 with actuating mechanism 8. Heat removal from stack gases is controlled with reference to value of signals coming from sensors and added by controlling unit using formula ΔtΣ__→ max(Δtc-Δtn-Δtg) by varying voltage between electrodes. EFFECT: improved efficiency of heat transfer from stack gases to heat-absorbing surfaces of furnace flues. 2 cl, 4 dwg
