FIELD: recovery of radioactive wastes, such as ion-exchange resins, by cementing them. SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary thermal treatment of ion-exchange resins at 350-395 C until they loose their ability to swell in water (mass loss by about 35%), cooling of steam-gas products of thermal treatment, and mixing of resin-oil condensate obtained with solid residue of ion-exchange resins, doping of alumina cement until water-cement proportion of about 0.5 is attained, followed by curing under air and moisture conditions for 28 days. Volume of solidified blocks equals that of initial wet ion-exchange resin. EFFECT: improved ion-exchange resin filling of cement blocks, reduced volume of the latter.
