FIELD: production of metal powders. SUBSTANCE: device for production of metal powders has circular gas header 4 supplying inert gas directly to focal point of spraying, branch pipe 4 maintaining the preset level of water in accumulating chamber 6 and regulating branch pipe 9 located in upper part of accumulating chamber to ensure full displacement of air from the spraying space and provision of atmosphere with low oxidizing potential. Spraying is effected by supply of liquid metal from melting unit 1 through preliminarily heated intermediate vessel 2 with calibrated hole in bottom plate. Simultaneously water is supplied through spraying unit 3 with preset flow rate and pressure and protective gas through gas header 4 is supplied to spraying focal point. Pulp mixture of water and produced powder enter accumulating chamber through branch pipe 7 regulating level. Atomized powder is deposited in powder accumulator 11 and subjected to dewatering.
