FIELD: electric heaters for fluid media, heating systems and appliances. SUBSTANCE: electric heater has shielding casing, vertically mounted barrel with medium inlet and outlet pipes, heating band, and insulating members made of soft and bulk material, one being placed on outer surface of barrel with heating band wound on it and other insulating member placed on band and covered with shielding casing. Heating band is wounded on barrel so that interturn clearance is made and insulating-member projections are formed in these clearances. Insulating member is made of wool. When heater is used for heating appliance, medium inlet and outlet pipes are connected to closed-volume container, such as radiator. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities, improved efficiency and reliability of electric heater. 2 cl, 2 dwg
