FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: fluorinator is designed for preparing, in particular, iron, neodymium, and praseodymium fluorides applicable in production of alloys needed for fabricating constant magnets. Fluorinator consists of a body with mixing-reaction zone and cooling jacket and contains hopper, feeding worm, disperser with opening for loading fluorinated material into mixing-reaction zone, and also nozzles for introducing fluorine into reaction zone and unit for discharging fluoride obtained. Besides, fluorinator contains an appliance for twisting fluorine through directing nozzles arranged tangentially at angle 16-19 deg. and axially at angle 22-24 deg. whereas fluorine is introduced through gas-distributive chamber. Ratio of disperser opening cross-section area to total area of cross-section of the above said directing nozzles is chosen in the range 1:(0.65-0.75).
