FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of volatile group IV-VIII metal fluorides, which are raw materials for producing nanodispersed materials. The method involves feeding fluorine and dispersed oxide material into a fluorination zone using an auger, mixing the fluorine and material and burning in a cooled vertical housing, cooling the gaseous fluorination products, separating the gaseous and condensed fluorination products. The oxide material is first mixed, after which a fluidised vertical stream of the material is formed and then batched into the fluorination zone. The housing is made from monel metal with air-water cooling, while maintaining the ratio Q1>Q2, where Q2/Q1 is proportional to 2/R, where Q1 is heat released when fluorine reacts with the dispersed material in the fluorination zone, kJ/mol, Q2 is heat loss when cooling the housing, kJ/mol, R is the inner radius of the housing, m. Temperature of inner wall of the housing is selected such that temperature distribution in the fluorination zone is more homogeneous. The invention also discloses a device realising said method.

EFFECT: high output of the end product - volatile fluorides and low of amount of wastes through optimisation of the fluorination process, reduced deposits of intermediate products of the process on the reactor wall, optimisation of the input of raw materials into the reactor.
