BIOGAS GENERATION METHOD AND APPARATUS Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: generation of biogas from animal and bird activity products and sewage waters. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing substrate; fermenting with bacteria to produce biogas and brew; separating brew into sediments and silt-laden water. Fermentation of basic product is conducted in acid fermentation, acid regression fermentation and alkaline fermentation sections positioned in succession. Method further involves supplying silt-laden water produced in each section to methane fermentation sections; providing vibratory grinding of substrate products at inlet and outlet ends of sections in mixture containing granular filler to obtain substrate particles of size corresponding to that of bacteria; prior to supplying silt-laden water to methane fermentation sections, clarifying silt-laden water by settling. Apparatus has casing with medium supply and discharge pipes. Casing has acid fermentation section, acid regression fermentation section and alkaline fermentation section positioned in succession and communicated one with the other in the course of advancement of substrate. Biogas containers are positioned above fermentation sections. Perforated boxes with granular filler are suspended on flexible supports at inlet and outlet ends of sections. Apparatus is further provided with vibration source and methane fermentation sections communicated with above mentioned sections and biogas containers.
