FIELD: physical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method includes following operations. Alternating or pulse current of fixed amplitude and frequency is passed through interphase boundary of liquid metal and electrolyte, boundary is deformed by solid body and amplitude of elastic vibrations propagating in solid body on frequency equal or multiple of frequency of alternating current is recorded by which force acting on solid body is determined. Boundary of separation is deformed by submersion of part of solid body into both liquids and elastic vibrations are recorded on unsubmerged part of it. Separation boundary is matched with edge of solid body, meniscus is corrected by movement of edge and elastic volumetric or surfaces waves are recorded. Separation boundary may be formed in the form of drop of metal in electrolyte. Device for registration of electrocapillary phenomena incorporates cell with liquid electrode and electrolyte, rod deforming separation boundary between them and unit setting potential of liquid electrode. Liquid electrode is connected to A.C. generator and rod is attached to electromechanical converter connected to input of selective amplifier tuned to frequency of alternating current and linked to demodulator. Butt of rod is joined to side surface along line of conjugation. Rod may have protruding cylindrical tip dipped into liquid metal up to upper butt. Side surface of tip is connected to upper butt surface along line of conjugation. EFFECT: enhanced functional reliability of method and device. 13 cl, 17 dwg
