FIELD: polymers and polymeric materials tests, determination of activation effective energy E value of polymers thermal oxidation destruction process in particular. SUBSTANCE: method provides for thermal treatment of sample and calculation of activation energy value. IN the case thermal treatment of sample is exercised by burning at speed of 0.2 - 0.4 mg/min under temperature of 1000 C and initial mass of sample 2 - 4 mg. Elementary composition of polymer monomer unit and polymeric material is determined and value of activation energy is calculated as E(C,N/Y,O)*K, kJ/M, with C,N... is sum of carbon, nitrogen and other elements atoms except hydrogen and oxygen; H, O. .. is sum of hydrogen and oxygen atoms; K is factor equal to 146 kJ/M corresponding to disintegration energy of hydroxide radicals.
