SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of modifying a heterophase polymer composition. Method of modifying the heterophase polymer composition consists in providing a compatibilising agent and a heterophase polymer composition. Compatibilising agent is an organic compound containing two or more functional groups capable of reacting with a free radical in radical bonding reactions. Heterophase polymer composition contains a propylene polymer phase and an ethylene polymer phase. Heterophase polymer composition has a number-average length of the sequence of ethylene links of 3 or more. Further, the compatibilising agent and the heterophase polymer composition are mixed. During the propylene polymer phase and the ethylene polymer phase, free radicals are formed. As a result, at least a portion of the compatibilising agent reacts with free radicals both in the propylene polymer phase, and in the phase of the ethylene polymer to form a bond with the propylene polymer in the propylene polymer phase and bond with the ethylene polymer in the ethylene polymer phase.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a heterophase polymer composition having high melt flow rate and high impact strength.
