FIELD: high-molecular products of etherification of higher alcohols, polyalkyleneglycol polycarbonates having properties of lubricating oils for refrigerators, and preparation of lubricating oil. SUBSTANCE: polyalkyleneglycol polycarbonate of formula: R¹¹-OCOO[R¹²O)_m-1R¹²-O-COO]_nR¹¹, wherein R¹¹ is independent group selected form group consisting of C₁-C₆--alkyl or alkoxyalkylene of formula: (R¹³O)_q-R¹⁴ wherein R¹³ is C₂-C₃- alkylene group; R¹⁴ is C₁-C_6,-alkyl group; q is integer of 1 to 10; R¹² is propylene group; m is integer of 2 or 3 and n is integer of 1 to 5; 10 to 70 mole% of end groups are essentially alkyloxyalkylene group given above. Process for preparation of polyalkyleneglycol polycarbonate comprises stage of heating the mixture composed of polyalkyleneglycol of formula: HO-(R¹²)_r1-OH, wherein R¹² and m are as defined above, and dimethyl carbonate of formula: CO(OCH₃)₂ at 50-300 C and at pressure ranging from atmospheric to 30 kg/sq cm for 0.1 to 100 h in the presence of monoalcohol of formula: R¹¹OH..
