FIELD: chemical technology, processes of sorption. SUBSTANCE: proposed sorbent contains carbon-containing material, aluminium oxide and metals. Crystalline graphite is used as said carbon-containing material. Fe, Mn, Ti, Co, Cr, Ni, Zr, V, W, Ru and Mo which form sandwich compound with crystalline graphite and Na, Ca, Mg, K which distort crystalline lattice of crystalline graphite are used as mentioned above metals. Proposed sorbent contains (mass %): carbon 96.8-10.0, SiO2 1.63-29.8, Al2O3 0.87-25.2, metals 0.70-35.0. Proposed sorbent is prepared by mixing carbon-containing material with Al2O3 followed by treatment thus prepared mixture in atmosphere of CO2. Crystalline graphite being used as mentioned above carbon-containing material is 0-55 mm in size, graphite is dried at 125-150 C and ground to 0-6 mm in size. Then mixing with Al2O3, SiO2 and with oxides of metals is carried out. Thus obtained mixture is then treated at 300-1200 C in the presence of water vapor and CO2.
