FIELD: arrangement for protecting from sun rays and rain. SUBSTANCE: stationary umbrella, in particular, garden umbrella has pole, roof, roof construction with tie-rods pivotally connected to stem portion, which is movable telescopically relative to pole and is adapted to carry top part. Slide is mounted for movement along pole and pivotally engageable with supporting angle braces, which are pivotally connected to umbrella roof tie-rods. During opening and closing of umbrella top part and slide are oriented one toward the other. Umbrella is provided with auxiliary angle brace pivotally mounted between umbrella stem and at least one tie-rod. Retaining console is fixed on stem. Slide has locking device for catching it in upper position and tightening umbrella roof. Locking device is engageable with retaining console. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction, enhanced reliability in operation. 4 cl, 3 dwg
