FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: oxygen-containing compounds of nontransitional and transitional metals (hydroxides, salts, basic salts) are converted into reactive solid products and oxygen compounds when subjecting starting material to action of concentrated beam of accelerated electrons under power-intensity at least 1 W/g for a time long enough to ensure rapid internal heating of starting phase volume and occurring phase conversions.
