FIELD: ceramics production. SUBSTANCE: in order to reduce fuel consumption when burning ceramics by way of heating original shaped stock and maintaining it at maximum temperature followed by cooling under condition of countercurrent to oxygen-containing gaseous heat carrier, which is fed into cooling zone and removed from heating zone, as the aforementioned heat carrier, a mixture of air with gaseous combustion products containing 1-4 wt % oxygen is used. Heating in this case is performed by means of burning a solid fuel introduced into stock blend or into furnace channel. Invention may find use in production of wall ceramics, tile, plates, and drainage pipes. EFFECT: reduced fuel consumption. 2 cl
