FIELD: metal treatment. SUBSTANCE: method is destined to treat parts for rail- way transport. Invention is aimed at enlarging functional possibilities of high-temperature thermomechanical treatment of high-manganese steel, in particular, intensifying process of explosion-mediated strengthening of parts with retaining combination of high-strength and plastic characteristics of metal and simultaneously increasing wear-resistance. Method of strengthening high-manganese steel makes possible obtaining small- grain structure with simultaneously avoiding formation of carbides and uniform strengthening of metal due to three-step treatment - high- temperature thermomechanical and plastic explosion-mediated deformation - twofold increasing wear-resistance.
