FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to repair of rubbing surfaces of parts of freight car bogie friction vibration damper. According to proposed method, plate of wear-resistant sheet steel is press-fitted onto worn surface of friction plate. Friction plate is heated to temperature exceeding 900-950°C before press-fitting of steel plate. Thickness of steel plate should be 0.7-1.0 mm greater than depth of wear of friction plate. Steel plate is placed with clearance over perimeter between steel plate edge and worn friction plate edge, equal to 7-8 mm. After holding steel plate in press under load at temperature of 3300-400°C, steel plate is welded to friction plate over perimeter by continuous weld. EFFECT: increased service life and improved repairability of friction plates. 4 dwg
