FIELD: chemical surface treatment of fibres. SUBSTANCE: bast fibres are subjected to treatment with 2.8-3.0%-aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid and mineral acid, hydrogen peroxide and mineral acid being taken in weight ratio 2:1. Mineral acid is taken in amount of 1.5-2.0% based on total weight of hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid. Fibres are next washed, and washed fibres are treated with aqueous solution containing 140-150 g/l sodium hydroxide. Method comprises step of oxidative cooking. EFFECT: cottonade fabric can be produced from bast fibres. 2 dwg
