FIELD: medicine, endoscopic examination of rectum. SUBSTANCE: apparatus comprises tubular hollow thin-walled barrel, one end of which is made in form of elongate oval. Head piece of apparatus comprises light source and handle. Tubular barrel is made of quartz glass and its oval portion has two openings with dia. 3-4 mm for passage of air. Beginning portion of barrel is threaded and constitutes part of bayonet-type coupling for connection of replaceable barrels to head piece of apparatus. Head piece accommodates, press-fitted therein, cylindrical light guide for illumination of interior cavity of barrel. Light guide is connected via light conductor to energy supply source comprising periscopic tube with rod. Beginning portion of periscopic tube houses pulsating light source, reflector, two periscope mirrors transmitting images to photographic paper through objective. Rod is provided with rack to enable longitudinal movement of periscope driven by pulse motor, and with toothed gear for rotation of periscope. Pulse motor is controlled by end switches. Photoscanning mechanism is enclosed in cylindrically shaped cassette which is sealed by shutters. Photograph is developed directly in photographic cassette. According to second alternative embodiment, apparatus affords visual examination of hollow organs via optic system using plurality of hollow transparent tubular barrels illuminated from inside by optic-fibre light source, and comprises head piece, handle, bayonet-type coupling for replaceable barrels and lenses. Air supply is provided by air pump arranged at opposite side.
