FIELD: medicine; examination of external and middle ears and nasal cavity. SUBSTANCE: otophinoscope has built-in fiber-optical illumination system which provides for shadowless illumination of field being examined. It also includes optical headpiece secured on otophinohead by means of which picture with magnification of 2, 4 and 8 power may be examined. By turning the headpiece around axis of its attachment it may be removed from field of vision to facilitate manipulation with medical instruments. For this purpose otophinoscope is provided with a set of three changeable funnels with narrow part diameter of 5, 6 and 7.5 mm which are placed on external cone of otophinohead. Otophinoscope may be supplied with power from storage battery or through mains knob. To facilitate examination, optical axis of otophinoscope is turned relative to axis of light source or knob through an angle of 110 ± 30 deg upwards, which enables performance of examinations in any position of patient's head and makes it possible to set one doctor's hand free. Given otophinoscope allows performance of rear otophinoscope since illumination system provides for shadowless illumination of field to be examined. Thus magnified picture of external and middle ears and of nasal cavity may be examined. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 1 dwg
