FIELD: hydrometallurgy of nonferrous metals, technology of zinc recovery from lean mine waters. SUBSTANCE: lean mine sulfate solutions are processed by additional dissolving of zinc in sulfate electrolyte with use of soluble zinc anodes and simultaneous precipitation of zinc on cathode which is accomplished at cathode current density of 350-675 A/sq.m and zinc concentration in solution in terms of metal is 6-10 g/l.
