FIELD: gaseous-discharge radiation sources, in particular, gaseous-discharge mercury lamps for ozone generation. SUBSTANCE: mercury lamp uses a quartz envelope with fillers effectively passing radiation in the far ultra-violet band. Mercury radiation at wavelengths of 185 and 254 nm is generated at excitation. Composition and pressure of fillers, as well as mercury pressure, are selected proceeding from the criterion of maximum concentration of ozone generated by the lamp, with due account made for the design parameters and parameters of discharge excitation.
