FIELD: hydraulic engineering, particular, coast protecting structures. SUBSTANCE: dike dam is a precast- cast-in-place reinforced concrete structure and consists of two main parts - a rigid step flume and a flexible head part. Flume is made of L-shaped different in height blocks and arranged in a row by pairs, one opposite to another. In so doing, the highest blocks, at least, two pairs are installed in root part cut in coast or dam slope, and behind them, at least, two pairs of blocks are installed with height lower than the highest ones. Inside the flume, in places of free length of reinforcement bars, the blocks are interconnected and concreted. Adjacent blocks from the outside and from the side are rigidly connected with one another in places of embedded fittings with the aid of reinforcing wire. Installed from atop across flume, in places of block joints, are stiffening ribs in form of reinforced concrete or metal connectors. From the front, the flume is closed with reinforcement screen. Connectors and reinforcement screen are fastened to mounting loops and embedded metals of adjacent blocks. Auxiliary part of flume is loaded with gravel and pebble. In addition, reinforcement belt is stretched over step flume from atop through mounting loops. Flexible head part of dike dam is located in front of flume of the channel bottom and formed of precast concrete cubes hinged with one another and flume reinforcement belts. In course of dike dam construction, first, base is prepared and trench is excavated within its root part, and L-shaped different in size blocks are interconnected with one another and reinforcement belt of flume, and after cast concrete on the flume bottom assumes the needed strength, flume bottom is loaded with gravel and pebble.
