FIELD: lighting engineering. SUBSTANCE: collecting lens is inserted between light source and light conductor to focus light beams onto light conductor end. Light conductor is not overheated by light flux as heat (infra-red) rays are absorbed by lens which also functions as heat filter. Collecting lens proper is hollow structure with water circulating within it by means of pump through cooler which prevents its heating over 100 C. Light conductor is, essentially, fiber-optic cable built up of many fibers stranded together into single bundle and placed in common sheath.
