SUBSTANCE: pieces of product are fed to cutting member over helical lines formed in combining the translational motion and rotary motion, near-surface layers of pieces are forced into holes of rotated grate, layers of product held in grate holes are cut off by moving pieces of product of fixed knife, remaining parts of pieces of product are moved in reciprocating mode over helical lines Housing 1 of device and pusher handle 10 are mounted for rotation about common axis. Housing of device is provided with drive 11 which rotates the housing in one circumferential direction or changes the sense of rotation in turn within sector of circle at central angle exceeding (360:n) deg where n is number of blades of fixed knife. Housing 1 and feed hopper are made in form of hollow polyhedrons. Housing 1 rotated circumferentially is provided with gear for connection with reduction gear of electric drive.
