FIELD: bromine production. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns isolating bromine from naturally occurring underground and surface salines as well as from waste and other process water containing bromine. In preliminarily acidified saline, bromide ion is oxidized to elementary bromine, which is further subjected to sorption by agency of slightly basic anionites followed by desorption of adsorbed bromine through treating bromine-saturated anionite with alkali agent, for example, sodium or potassium hydroxide. Method allows isolating bromine in the form of high-concentration solutions - 150-225 g/l (against 60-65 g/l in known method) with relatively low desorption agent consumption. EFFECT: simplified process, enhanced efficiency, and reduced power consumption. 2 cl, 1 tbl
