FIELD: silicon production. SUBSTANCE: method includes metering, mixing, loading and continuous melting of blend composed of quartzite, petroleum coke, charcoal, and wood chops. Prior to be introduced into blend, petroleum coke is treated with caustic soda, dried to moisture 6-12%. Melting is carried out in rotating ore heat-treatment furnace with pool profile in the form of truncated cone with its great base upward. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 cl
