FIELD: separation of amino acids by chromatographic methods. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to using thin-layer chromatography for separating amino acids in body fluids. Aliquots of test fluid and reference amino acid mixture are applied onto silica gel plate, which is placed into chromatographic chamber with water-organic solvent system. Amino acids are detected with ninhydrin reagent and identified via comparing obtained chromatograms of the two aliquots. Separation of amino acids, according to invention, is conducted simultaneously on two plates placed into two chambers. In one of them, amino acids are separated with mobility coefficient $$$ 0.3 using solvent system composed of propanol, 24-25% aqueous ammonia solution, and water in volume ratio (3.3-4.1): (0.9-1.5): (7.5-9.0). Amino acids in the second chamber are separated with mobility coefficient $$$ 0.3 using solvent system composed of chloroform, ethanol, acetic acid, and water in volume ratio (52.5-54.0):(26.0-27.5):(8.9-9.6):(3.5-4.2). EFFECT: increased efficiency of separation.
